The primary purpose of Centering Prayer is to further our experiential knowledge of the transforming love of God. The Centering Prayer group here at St. Joseph’s is open to all who are seeking to know God and be transformed by the goodness and grace of His presence. Whether you are experienced or not you are invited to join our community to practice, share, and learn with the aim of encouraging each other along the spiritual journey.
This group is facilitated by Centering Prayer practitioners Jane and David Lehman and meets (usually) two Thursdays per month. The next meeting will be on August 20. For more information, please contact David at: [email protected]
All women of the parish are warmly invited to join us on Saturday, August 22 from 9:45- 11:00 A.M. in the parish center for a spiritually focused “mini-retreat” morning—a time of prayer, reflection, and sharing in a supportive, faith-filled space. If you’ve joined us before, we’d love to see you again. If this is your first time, welcome—your presence will help us build this beautiful ministry. Women of all ages are welcome—bring a friend!
All the members of the parish are invited to a morning of prayer using the Lectio Divina style of praying with the Scripture.
The Scriptures are the Word of God and God speaks to us personally through the Scriptures. The Lectio Divina style of prayer is reading a Scripture passage several times with pauses after each reading for personal reflection. There is also the opportunity to share our reflections.
Join us on Monday, August 24 at 9:45 A.M. (after the 9:00 A.M. Mass) in the conference room in the parish center for this inspiring opportunity to listen to God and grow closer to Him. For more information, please contact Sister Elizabeth Anne at [email protected] All are welcome to join us!
The next Catholic Grandparents Association meeting will be on Tuesday, August 25 at 9:45 A.M. in the church hall. All grandparents are invited to join us for refreshments and meaningful faith-based discussion.
